Accepting an invitation to join a group
If someone has invited you to be a member of a group, you should have received an email from invitations@ibelong.com. Clicking on the hyperlink in that email invitation will take you directly to our Registration Form.
If you haven't received an invitation, you can still join the New Navy Log by going to http://navymemorial.ibelong.com and click the Join link in the upper right-hand corner of our Welcome Screen. This will also take you to our Registration Form.
Once you’ve registered, you’ll be able to create your own My iBelong page, join groups, and create your own groups.
Filling out the Registration Form
First, choose a User Name and type it into the first box. We’ll automatically check to see if it’s available.
Then choose a Password that contains at least 8 characters. To make sure your password can’t be easily guessed by someone else, don’t use your address, phone number, birth date or name. In the Confirm Password box, enter the same password again.
Enter your E-mail address. We’ll be sending you an email to confirm your registration, so make sure that you use a valid address. Also make sure your e-mail application is set to receive email from invitations@ibelong.com.
Choose a security question. We’ll ask you this question if you forget your login information, so be sure your answer is one that only you will know.
Type the special characters into the box.
After reading the Terms of Service, and then click the I Accept button.
Check your e-mail for our message that will allow you to complete your registration.
Receiving your confirmation email message
Shortly after registering, you’ll receive an email from invitations@ibelong.com containing your User Name, Password, and Security Question (Save this email for reference). Click the “Click here” link in the e-mail to return to iBelong Confirmation Page, where you’ll be able to complete your registration.
On the Confirmation Page, please provide the requested information. For your birthdate, you can enter the date manually, or click on the calendar to choose a date. Then click the Save button. A Sign In page will open.
On the Sign In page, enter your User Name and Password. Then click the Log In button to go to your My iBelong page.
The next time you return to iBelong, you can access your page by clicking the Log In link in the upper right hand corner of our home page.
Setting up your My iBelong page
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be directed to your own My iBelong page. This page has several gadgets already in place. Your Welcome Gadget offers brief explanations of these gadgets.
To see an in-depth explanation of how to use each of these gadgets, click the Help link in its lower right-hand corner.
To see more options for customizing your page and settings, click the Manage This Page link in the upper right hand corner of this page. You can also find gadget help in the Adding Content to a Group Page Quickstart Guide.
Begin customizing your page by filling out your Profile. This is an important first step, because you’ll choose the keywords that will determine the kinds of news that will be delivered to your page.
